The Broomley Bee Project
Based in the Tyne Valley, Northumberland, The Broomley Bee Project is a small charity whose aim it is to provide the opportunity for as many people as possible to experience beekeeping. Working primarily with schools in the region we provide hands on workshops to children of all ages, either visiting them at school, inviting them to our apiary – or both!
We can provide a program of educational activities that will introduce young people to bees, how and where they live, how they work together and why they are so important to us. Tailored to meet the needs of the individual school these can take the form of a one-off visit or a series of sessions.
All our work is funded by grants or our own fundraising efforts and our workshops run by knowledgeable volunteers.
The Project owns a number of hives, supporting colonies of black bees which are native to this area of Northumberland.
If you would like to be involved in the running of the Project then you are very welcome to join us.
